Japanese Traditional House Room Tour (Airbnb near Narita Airport, Chiba Japan) | Nadia Supawadee
Enjoyed this episode. I used your Japan videos for my trip to Japan as guidance this past September. I am vegetarian and it was a challenge to find food but I managed not to eat at any western restaurant while I was there. Lastly, I bought a Japanese bidet for my home when I return from Japan because they were amazing.
I had the biggest smile on my face listening to the magazine part I forgot how funny that was😂
Great “off-season” content
Sean’s memory is amazing, there’s so many things that I’ve forgotten that happened. I want to relive this trip so bad but listening to these podcasts are the next best thing :’)
Fun to listen to again. (Nerdy train guy mode switched on)
Re: Narita Express. “Narita Express” is just the name of that line. But, there are 3 different types of Narita Express trains, with 3 of each type for each of the 3 terminal destinations. Terminus points are: Ofuna, after it leaves Shinagawa. Takao and Omiya, after it leaves Shinjuku.
The 3 types are:
Rapid: (slowest) 3 extra stops before Tokyo.
Limited Express: 1 extra stop before Tokyo.
Express: Straight to Tokyo.
After Tokyo, all stop in Shinagawa, then Shinjuku. (Except for the “Rapid” line from Shinagawa, that heads west.)
The “Rapid” trains are the most numerically, and stop the most. They then get “Leap-frogged” while in various station stops along the way, by both the “Limited Express” and “Express” versions.
I believe that the “Express” and “Limited Express” trains are reserve seating only. All you have to do is get a ticket (free w/your railpass) for one of the express trains.
I’m guessing you guys just hopped on the first train heading to Shinjuku, not knowing the difference. While had you waited 15-20min, you could’ve caught one of the “Express” versions, and gotten there a lot sooner. The difference being about 45 minutes. (End nerdy stuff)
Love to hear you guys talk about everything!!
“SUSHI!!” LMAO!!
I absolutely love these podcasts, I’ve listened to both of them all the way through and they are very entertaining and interesting
